Description:
The Convention was signed by 150 government leaders during the 1992 Rio Earth Summit. It is dedicated to promoting sustainable development, and conceived as a practical tool for translating the principles of Agenda 21 into concrete actions. It promotes biological diversity, nature and human well-being. The Convention highlights the need for “transfer of biotechnology equipment and know-how”.
