Description:
The microalgae selection process took into account their cosmetic value and the feasibility for the large scale cultivation . The algae extracts of Botryococcus braunii had a good potential for inducing cell-line differentiation, for stimulating collagen synthesis and for moisturising skin and good anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Galdieria sulphuraria extract has shown a significant antimicrobial effect against some strains of acne-causing bacteria. The green-blue algae Spirulina, was fermented using innovative processes in order to increase the bioavailability of the active compounds thus creating a unique ingredient for cosmetic use.
