The value chains addressed by ALGABOOSTER are: production for algae for high value compounds and both related to aquaculture.

Description:
The development of additive complexes to be used in European aquaculture and make it more sustainable and competitive. European aquaculture is a growing sector, of great importance to the EU economy, but it must improve its competitiveness by increasing, among other things, the effectiveness and sustainability of fish feed. The aim of the ALGABOOSTER project is to help make the European aquaculture sector competitive and sustainable. Their advanced aquafeed enriched with a marine microalgae immunostimulant complex will boost fish immune system and growth as well as buffer the effects of stress, all in a natural way. It has been scientifically tested and guarantees significant reduction in mortality rates. ALGABOOSTER has also demonstrated a substantial increase in the final product quality. ALGABOOSTER can revolutionise the feeding of the aquaculture sector, achieving a better growth of the fish and a decrease of its traditionally high mortality rate. Marine microalgae are the basis of the trophic chain in the sea and due to their origin they constitute, possibly, the best and most natural base for the feeding of these fish.
