Brief description of the organization’s activities:
We are a team of experts specializing in different groups of plants such as algae, lichens, and vascular plants. We blend traditional field research methods with modern digital technologies to store and analyze botanical and ecological data. Our goal is to expand our understanding of various terrestrial and wetland ecosystems and to apply effective science-based conservation practices for endangered species and plant communities, as well as prevent phytoinvasions.

Sector(s) of involvement:
Aquaculture and fisheries technologies; Food and feed; Agriculture; Pharmaceutical; Bioremediation, ecosystem restoration, climate change mitigation and other environmental biotechnologyYes

Role of the organization in the development and/or application of Blue Biotechnologies:
• Identifying and assessing the level of transformation of plant diversity
• Using plants to indicate ecological conditions
• Assessing the sanitary state of water bodies
• Identifying invasive species and predicting potential risks
• Writing and reviewing environmental impact assessment reports
• Providing scientific justification for creating nature conservation areas
• Building and maintaining collections of plant specimens and algae cultures
• Contributing to databases containing ecological and biological information
• Digitizing plant specimen collections
• Creating digital maps containing plant data
• Developing the technologies of industrial cultivation of algae

Skills and services provided:
We can provide our strong expertise in: field research of flora and vegetation, species identification, data digitalization and analysis, evaluation of ecological conditions
and human impact, making science based predictions of ecological conditions, developing action plans for nature protection , conservation, and restoration.

Needs in terms of research, innovation, development, and/or application of blue biotechnologies:
We are interested in cooperation in EU Programs such as HORIZON Europe and LIFE in the projects devoted to cross-border biodiversity research and nature conservation on the European scale. We are ready to provide our expertise in field plant diversity studies, species identification, GIS and remote sensing technologies, and environmental impact assessment. Our interests lie in topics such as phytosociology, ecosystem resilience planning, ecosystem services based on field and remote sensing data, and the establishment of ex situ biodiversity centers.
