General idea:
PIPECES is an initiative led by Estrella de Levante, which also includes two other companies, in addition to the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) and the University of Murcia (UMU). It favours innovation in the circular and blue economy using by-products used in the manufacture of beer and which are integrated into fish feed and used in aquaculture. It is an initiative that promotes sustainability in the aquaculture value chain by reducing waste and proposing their integration into high-value-added feeds.
Description:
The objective of PIPECES is to obtain a treatment of the brewery’s by-products to minimise the environmental impact of this waste, through a study of the components to be incorporated in aquaculture fish feed.
